Quran 92:12~21

It is certainly upon Us ˹alone˺ to show ˹the way to˺ guidance. And surely to Us ˹alone˺ belong this life and the next. And so I have warned you of a raging Fire, in which none will burn except the most wretched—who deny and turn away. But the righteous will be spared from it— who donate ˹some of˺ their wealth only to purify themselves, not in return for someone’s favours, but seeking the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High. They will certainly be pleased.Quran 92:12~21[ Surah al-Layl , The Night ]
The Surah takes its name from the first Ayat,
By the night when it covers” [92:1].

It has basically the same theme as the previous Surah,
but it tells us about the two ways of life:
good way and evil way and the consequences of both ways.

Its theme is to distinguish between the two different ways of life and to explain the contrast between their ultimate ends and results. In view of the subject matter this Surah consists of two parts, the first part consisting of v. 1-11 and the second of v. 12-21.

Quran 13:19~24

“Can the one who knows that your Lord’s revelation to you ˹O Prophet˺ is the truth be like the one who is blind? None will be mindful ˹of this˺ except people of reason.˹They are˺ those who honour Allah’s covenant, never breaking the pledge;and those who maintain whatever ˹ties˺ Allah has ordered to be maintained, stand in awe of their Lord, and fear strict judgment. And ˹they are˺ those who endure patiently, seeking their Lord’s pleasure, establish prayer, donate from what We have provided for them—secretly and openly—and respond to evil with good. It is they who will have the ultimate abode:the Gardens of Eternity, which they will enter along with the righteous among their parents, spouses, and descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, ˹saying,˺“Peace be upon you for your perseverance. How excellent is the ultimate abode!”Quran 13:19~24
The word ar-Ra’d (thunder), which this Surah is named after, is used in the 13th Surah of the Qur’an, in the 13th Juzz and is the 13th Ayat.

The basic theme of the Surah is divine guidance.
Allah has created this whole universe.
He knows what is in the wombs and every thing is under His knowledge.
He sent His prophets and guides to all people for their guidance
and now the Last Messenger has come.

It is named after Ale-Imran ‘the family of Imran’ – Imran being the grandfather of Jesus [Isa], and the father of Mary [Maryam]. Other than this Surah, Imran is not mentioned in the rest of the Qur’an with the exception of Surah 66: at-Tahreem – ‘Maryam daughter of Imran’ [66:12].
Zahra – The Prophet is reported to have called al-Baqarah and Ale-Imran as ‘Zahrawayn’ [Two Lights (of guidance)]

The main topics of this Surah are Tawhid, Prophethood and the truth of the Qur’ an. As Surah al-Baqarah discussed the issues related to Bani Israel, this Surah discusses some issues related to the Christian community and their religious positions. It also discusses the subjects of Hajj, Jihad, Zakat and Riba. It ends, like Surah al-Baqarah, with a profound dua.

Quran 9:20~22

Those who have believed, emigrated, and strived in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of Allah. It is they who will triumph.Their Lord gives them good news of His mercy, pleasure, and Gardens with everlasting bliss, to stay there for ever and ever. Surely with Allah is a great reward.Quran 9:20~22

This is the only Sūrah of the Qur’ān to which ‘In the Name of God, Most Gracious Most Merciful’ is not prefixed. Though the commentators have given different reasons for this, the correct one that which has been given by Imām Razi: namely this is because the Prophet himself did not dictate it at the beginning of the Sūrah. Therefore the Companions did not prefix it and their successors followed them. This is a further proof of the fact that utmost care has been taken to keep the Qur’ān intact so that it should remain in its complete and original form.

Quran 102:1-8

Competition for more ˹gains˺ diverts you ˹from Allah˺,until you end up in ˹your˺ graves. But no! You will soon come to know.Again, no! You will soon come to know. Indeed, if you were to know ˹your fate˺ with certainty, ˹you would have acted differently˺.˹But˺ you will surely see the Hellfire.Again, you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about ˹your worldly˺ pleasures.Quran 102:1~8,Surah at-Takathur (Competition, Worldly Gain)

The Surah talks about the evil consequences of materialism and this worldliness.

In it the people have been warned of the evil consequences of world worship because of which they spend their lives in acquiring more and more of worldly wealth, material benefits and pleasures, and position and power, till death, and in vying with one another and bragging and boasting about their acquisitions. This one pursuit has so occupied them that they are left with no time or opportunity for pursuing the higher goals in life. After warning the people of its evil end they have been told as if to say: “These blessings which you are amassing and enjoying thoughtlessly, are not mere blessings but are also a means of your trial. For each one of these blessings and comforts you will surely be called to account in the Hereafter.”

Quran 2:272

You are not responsible for people’s guidance ˹O Prophet˺—it is Allah Who guides whoever He wills. Whatever you ˹believers˺ spend in charity, it is for your own good—as long as you do so seeking the pleasure of Allah. Whatever you donate will be paid back to you in full, and you will not be wronged.Quran 2:272

The surah encompasses a variety of topics and contains several commands for Muslims such as enjoining fasting on the believer during the month of Ramadan; forbidding interest or usury (riba); and several famous verses such as The Throne Verse, Al-Baqara 256, and the final two or three verses. The surah addresses a wide variety of topics, including substantial amounts of law, and retells stories of Adam, Ibrahim (Abraham) and Musa (Moses). A major theme is guidance: urging the pagans (Al-Mushrikeen) and the Jews of Medina to embrace Islam, and warning them and the hypocrites (Munafiqun) of the fate God had visited in the past on those who failed to heed his call.
