Quran 53:19~26

Now, have you considered ˹the idols of˺ Lât and ’Uzza, and the third one, Manât, as well? Do you ˹prefer to˺ have sons while ˹you attribute˺ to Him daughters? Then this is ˹truly˺ a biased distribution! These ˹idols˺ are mere names that you and your forefathers have made up— a practice Allah has never authorized. They follow nothing but ˹inherited˺ assumptions and whatever ˹their˺ souls desire, although ˹true˺ guidance has already come to them from their Lord. Or should every person ˹simply˺ have whatever ˹intercessors˺ they desire? In fact, to Allah ˹alone˺ belongs this world and the next. ˹Imagine˺ how many ˹noble˺ angels are in the heavens! ˹Even˺ their intercession would be of no benefit whatsoever, until Allah gives permission to whoever He wills and ˹only for the people He˺ approves. Quran 53:19~26 Surah an-Najm (The Star)
This Surah takes its name from the first Ayat, وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ “By the star when it descends,” (53:1).

أَفَرَءَیۡتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰ وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰۤ أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ تِلۡكَ إِذࣰا قِسۡمَةࣱ ضِیزَىٰۤ إِنۡ هِیَ إِلَّاۤ أَسۡمَاۤءࣱ سَمَّیۡتُمُوهَاۤ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَاۤؤُكُم مَّاۤ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَـٰنٍۚ إِن یَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَاۤءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰۤ أَمۡ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةُ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ ۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكࣲ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِی شَفَـٰعَتُهُمۡ شَیۡءًا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَن یَأۡذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَرۡضَىٰۤ ‏
The Surah talks about the eminence of the Prophet (saw) with his Mi’raj and closeness to Allah. It warns the disbelievers about the errors of their attitude towards the Qur’an and the Prophet of Allah. Some of their wrong beliefs in the angels as daughters of God, intercession of the angels etc. are also mentioned.
بھلا تم لوگوں نے لات اور عزیٰ کو دیکھا اور تیسرے منات کو (کہ یہ بت کہیں خدا ہوسکتے ہیں) (مشرکو!) کیا تمہارے لئے تو بیٹے اور خدا کے لئے بیٹیاں یہ تقسیم تو بہت بےانصافی کی ہے وہ تو صرف نام ہی نام ہیں جو تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادا نے گھڑ لئے ہیں۔ خدا نے تو ان کی کوئی سند نازل نہیں کی۔ یہ لوگ محض ظن (فاسد) اور خواہشات نفس کے پیچھے چل رہے ہیں۔ حالانکہ ان کے پروردگار کی طرف سے ان کے پاس ہدایت آچکی ہے کیا جس چیز کی انسان آرزو کرتا ہے وہ اسے ضرور ملتی ہے آخرت اور دنیا تو الله ہی کے ہاتھ میں ہے اور آسمانوں میں بہت سے فرشتے ہیں جن کی سفارش کچھ بھی فائدہ نہیں دیتی مگر اس وقت کہ خدا جس کے لئے چاہے اجازت بخشے اور (سفارش) پسند کرے
Sections:
The Mi’raj experience of the Prophet Muhammad (saw). Gods or goddesses of the non-believers are mere conjectures and names without any reality.
The angels are the servants of Allah. No intercession can work against Allah. Allah is most forgiving, but He requires righteousness.
Those who deny the truth they are standing against the power and majesty of Allah.

Quran 26:201~209

They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment, which will take them by surprise when they least expect ˹it˺. Then they will cry, “Can we be allowed more time?” Do they ˹really˺ seek to hasten Our torment? Imagine ˹O Prophet˺ if We allowed them enjoyment for years, then there came to them what they had been threatened with: would that enjoyment be of any benefit to them ˹at all˺? We have never destroyed a society without warners to remind ˹them˺, for We would never wrong ˹anyone˺. Quran 26:201~209 Surah ash-Shu`ara` (The Poets)
The Surah is named ‘The Poets’ and is mentioned in the Ayat, وَالشُّعَرَاءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ الْغَاوُونَ “And the poets – [only] the deviators follow them;” (26:224).
This is the longest Makki Surah of the Qur’an having 227 Ayat.

لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ یَرَوُا۟ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِیمَ فَیَأۡتِیَهُم بَغۡتَةࣰ وَهُمۡ لَا یَشۡعُرُونَ فَیَقُولُوا۟ هَلۡ نَحۡنُ مُنظَرُونَ أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا یَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ أَفَرَءَیۡتَ إِن مَّتَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ سِنِینَ ثُمَّ جَاۤءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یُوعَدُونَ مَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یُمَتَّعُونَ وَمَاۤ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ ذِكۡرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ
The non-believers were asking for signs to prove that the Qur’an was the word of Allah. Allah mentioned many signs both in nature and in history. Stories of many prophets are also mentioned to indicate that all prophets presented basically the same message.
وہ دردناک عذاب دیکھے بغیر اس پر ایمان نہیں لائیں گے پھر وہ ان پر اچاناک آئے گا اور انہیں خبر بھی نہ ہوگی پھر کہیں گے کیا ہمیں مہلت مل سکتی ہے کیا ہمارے عذاب کو جلد چاہتے ہیں بھلا دیکھ اگر ہم انہیں چند سال فائدہ اٹھانے دیں پھر ان کے پاس وہ عذاب آئے جس کا وعدہ دیے جاتے ہیں تو جو انہوں نے فائدہ اٹھایا ہے کیا ان کے کچھ کام بھی آئے گا اور ہم نے ایسی کوئی بستی ہلاک نہیں کی جس کے لیے ڈرانے والے نہ آئے ہوں نصیحت دینے کے لیے اور ہم ظالم نہیں تھے
Sections:
Allah has power to bring down the mightiest sign, but here is a test for people. This wonderful creation is a sign itself for those who want to learn.
Signs were shown to Pharaoh.
Pharaoh’s magicians and Prophet Moses.
The exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. The sea splitting and giving the way.
Prophet Ibrahim’s struggle against idolatry.
Prophet Noah and his people.
The ‘Ad and the Prophet Hud – peace be upon him.
The Thamud and the Prophet Saleh – peace be upon him.
Prophet Lot – peace be upon him – and his people.
Prophet Shu’aib – peace be upon him – and his people.
The Qur’an is the message from the Lord of the worlds. It is neither from devils nor do they have any clue of this message. It is not poetry of the poets. It is a serious message with eternal consequences.

Quran 45:33~35

And the evil ˹consequences˺ of their deeds will unfold before them, and they will be overwhelmed by what they used to ridicule. It will be said, “This Day We will neglect you as you neglected the meeting of this Day of yours! Your home will be the Fire, and you will have no helpers. This is because you made a mockery of Allah’s revelations, and were deluded by ˹your˺ worldly life.” So ˹from˺ that Day ˹on˺ they will not be taken out of the Fire, nor will they be allowed to appease ˹their Lord˺. Quran 45:33~35 Surah al-Jathiyah (The Kneeling)
The Surah takes its name with the mention of kneeling in the Ayat,
وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً ۚكُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَىٰ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِهَا الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
“And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told],
“Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do.” (45:28).
There are 37 Ayat in this Surah.

وَبَدَا لَهُمۡ سَیِّءَاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ وَقِیلَ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ نَنسَىٰكُمۡ كَمَا نَسِیتُمۡ لِقَاۤءَ یَوۡمِكُمۡ هَـٰذَا وَمَأۡوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِینَ ذَ ٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذۡتُمۡ ءَایَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوࣰا وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡیَاۚ فَٱلۡیَوۡمَ لَا یُخۡرَجُونَ مِنۡهَا وَلَا هُمۡ یُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ
The Surah warns those who deny the Divine truth.
It talks about human arrogance and sinfulness.
The judgment of Allah will cover all the people.
The nations will stand before him in the kneeling condition.
اور ان کے اعمال کی برائیاں ان پر ظاہر ہوجائیں گی اور جس (عذاب) کی وہ ہنسی اُڑاتے تھے وہ ان کو آگھیرے گا اور کہا جائے گا کہ جس طرح تم نے اس دن کے آنے کو بھلا رکھا تھا۔ اسی طرح آج ہم تمہیں بھلا دیں گے اور تمہارا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے اور کوئی تمہارا مددگار نہیں یہ اس لئے کہ تم نے خدا کی آیتوں کو مخول بنا رکھا تھا اور دنیا کی زندگی نے تم کو دھوکے میں ڈال رکھا تھا۔ سو آج یہ لوگ نہ دوزخ سے نکالے جائیں گے اور نہ ان کی توبہ قبول کی جائے گی
Sections:
Allah’s signs are all over in the universe and in our own soul. Those who deny the revelation of God will see punishment of Allah.
Follow the clear path of truth.
Some people have made their desires their god. They also deny the Hereafter.
People will stand before Allah on their knees. Their record of deeds will be presented to them.

Quran 10:98~100

If only there had been a society which believed ˹before seeing the torment˺ and, therefore, benefited from its belief, like the people of Jonah. When they believed, We lifted from them the torment of disgrace in this world and allowed them enjoyment for a while. Had your Lord so willed ˹O Prophet˺, all ˹people˺ on earth would have certainly believed, every single one of them! Would you then force people to become believers? It is not for any soul to believe except by Allah’s leave, and He will bring His wrath upon those who are unmindful. Quran 10:98~100 Surah Yunus,Jonah
The surah is named after the Prophet Yunus [Jonah] and this is the only surah of the Qur’an to mention the ‘people of Yunus’ –
“Then has there not been a [single] city that believed so its faith benefited it except the people of Jonah?
When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in worldly life and gave them enjoyment for a time” (10:98)

فَلَوۡلَا كَانَتۡ قَرۡیَةٌ ءَامَنَتۡ فَنَفَعَهَاۤ إِیمَـٰنُهَاۤ إِلَّا قَوۡمَ یُونُسَ لَمَّاۤ ءَامَنُوا۟ كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡخِزۡیِ فِی ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَمَتَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِینࣲ وَلَوۡ شَاۤءَ رَبُّكَ لَءَامَنَ مَن فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كُلُّهُمۡ جَمِیعًاۚ أَفَأَنتَ تُكۡرِهُ ٱلنَّاسَ حَتَّىٰ یَكُونُوا۟ مُؤۡمِنِینَ وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفۡسٍ أَن تُؤۡمِنَ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَیَجۡعَلُ ٱلرِّجۡسَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یَعۡقِلُونَ
The main subject of this Surah is faith in Allah and belief in the Hereafter. Those who have true faith, they worship Allah and recognize Him as their Lord and Master and live their lives in accordance to His command. Allah sent His Messengers to remind people and to warn them. The stories of Prophets Noah and Prophet Moses with Pharaoh are told to remind people about the consequences of unfaithfulness and arrogance.
پھر کیا ایسی کوئی مثال ہے کہ ایک بستی عذاب دیکھ کر ایمان لائی ہو اور اس کا ایمان اس کے لیے نفع بخش ثابت ہوا ہو؟ یونسؑ کی قوم کے سوا (اس کی کوئی نظیر نہیں) وہ قوم جب ایمان لے آئی تھی تو البتہ ہم نے اس پر سے دنیا کی زندگی میں رسوائی کا عذاب ٹال دیا تھا اور اس کو ایک مدت تک زندگی سے بہرہ مند ہونے کا موقع دے دیا تھا اگر تیرے رب کی مشیت یہ ہوتی (کہ زمین میں سب مومن و فرمانبردار ہی ہوں) تو سارے اہل زمین ایمان لے آئے ہوتے پھر کیا تو لوگوں کو مجبور کرے گا کہ وہ مومن ہو جائیں؟ کوئی متنفس اللہ کے اذن کے بغیر ایمان نہیں لا سکتا، اور اللہ کا طریقہ یہ ہے کہ جو لوگ عقل سے کام نہیں لیتے وہ ان پر گندگی ڈال دیتا ہے
Sections:
The Qur’an is the Book of wisdom, it contains signs from the All Wise.
Man’s ingratitude to Allah and His revelation.
Allah’s mercy to His creation. Allah invites to the abode of peace.
Allah’s gifts. The Qur’an is from Allah. Bring a Surah like the Qur’an if you can.
Those who disbelieve in the Qur’an shall be the losers. Every people were sent a Messenger.
The Qur’an is a mercy, blessing and a cure for the problems of humankind.
Whatever you do Allah is a Witness. The mistakes of the Mushrikin.
The story of Prophet Noah and his people. Prophet Moses and Aaron -peace be upon them all.
Allah delivered the Children of Israel from the bondage of the Pharaoh.
Allah’s mercy for the Children of Israel. Prophet Yunus and his people.
If Allah afflicts you with any loss or wants to bestow any profit on you, none can avert it. You must always follow Allah’s guidance.

Quran 7:185~186

Have they ever reflected on the wonders of the heavens and the earth, and everything Allah has created, and that perhaps their end is near? So what message after this ˹Quran˺ would they believe in? Whoever Allah allows to stray, none can guide, leaving them to wander blindly in their defiance. Quran Surah Al-Araf 7:185~186
The Surah is named after the story of the men awaiting on the “Elevations” between Paradise and Hell.
It comprises of 206 Ayat.

أَوَ لَمۡ یَنظُرُوا۟ فِی مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَیۡءࣲ وَأَنۡ عَسَىٰۤ أَن یَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقۡتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمۡۖ فَبِأَیِّ حَدِیثِۭ بَعۡدَهُۥ یُؤۡمِنُونَ مَن یُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا هَادِیَ لَهُۥۚ وَیَذَرُهُمۡ فِی طُغۡیَـٰنِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ
Al-A’raf – The Elevations. Allah mentions Paradise and Hellfire and then speaks of the ‘elevations’ between them reserved for some amongst humanity. These people not knowing what will happen to them. The people of Hell-fire will be refused water as it will be prohibited for the disbelievers in the after-life.
کیا ان لوگوں نے آسمان و زمین کے انتظام پر کبھی غور نہیں کیا اور کسی چیز کو بھی جو خدا نے پیدا کی ہے آنکھیں کھول کر نہیں دیکھا؟ اور کیا یہ بھی انہوں نے نہیں سوچا کہ شاید اِن کی مہلت زندگی پوری ہونے کا وقت قریب آ لگا ہو؟ پھر آخر پیغمبرؐ کی اِس تنبیہ کے بعد اور کونسی بات ایسی ہو سکتی ہے جس پر یہ ایمان لائیں؟ جس کو اللہ رہنمائی سے محروم کر دے اُس کے لیے پھر کوئی رہنما نہیں ہے، اور اللہ اِنہیں اِن کی سرکشی ہی میں بھٹکتا ہوا چھوڑے دیتا ہے
The basic theme of this Surah is Risalah, i.e. Allah’s message as it was sent through many messengers. Several Prophets and parts of their stories are mentioned to emphasize Prophets’ mission and their struggle with their people. The Surah tells us that Allah’s Prophets suffered for the cause of truth. Their enemies tried to harm them, but then Allah helped his prophets and defeated their enemies. The Surah emphasizes that the true message must be presented under all circumstances. After the Prophets it is the duty of the Believers to convey the message of Allah to all people.
