Quran 84:16~24

So, I do swear by the twilight! And by the night and whatever it envelops! And by the moon when it waxes full! You will certainly pass from one state to another. So what is the matter with them that they do not believe, and when the Quran is recited to them, they do not bow down ˹in submission˺? In fact, the disbelievers persist in denial. But Allah knows best whatever they hide. So give them good news of a painful punishment. Quran 84:16~24 ۩ Ayat-e-Sajda / Prostration Verse
The Surah takes its name after the first Ayat, إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انشَقَّتْ “When the sky has split [open]” [84:1]

فَلَاۤ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ وَٱلَّیۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقࣲ فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُوۡنَ ۩ بَلِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ یُكَذِّبُونَ وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یُوعُونَ فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِیمٍ
This Surah tells us that this world has no permanence.
It also speaks about the record of deeds and the rewards of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked.
It reminds people to pay attention to the Qur’an.
ہمیں شام کی سرخی کی قسم اور رات کی اور جن چیزوں کو وہ اکٹھا کر لیتی ہے ان کی اور چاند کی جب کامل ہو جائے کہ تم درجہ بدرجہ (رتبہٴ اعلیٰ پر) چڑھو گے تو ان لوگوں کو کیا ہوا ہے کہ ایمان نہیں لاتے اور جب ان کے سامنے قرآن پڑھا جاتا ہے تو سجدہ نہیں کرتے ۩ بلکہ کافر جھٹلاتے ہیں اور خدا ان باتوں کو جو یہ اپنے دلوں میں چھپاتے ہیں خوب جانتا ہے تو ان کو دکھ دینے والے عذاب کی خبر سنا دو

Quran 60:3~4

Neither your relatives nor children will benefit you on Judgment Day— He will decide between you ˹all˺. For Allah is All-Seeing of what you do. You already have an excellent example in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, “We totally dissociate ourselves from you and ˹shun˺ whatever ˹idols˺ you worship besides Allah. We reject you. The enmity and hatred that has arisen between us and you will last until you believe in Allah alone.” The only exception is when Abraham said to his father, “I will seek forgiveness for you,˹” adding, “ but˺ I cannot protect you from Allah at all.” ˹The believers prayed,˺ “Our Lord! In You we trust. And to You we ˹always˺ turn. And to You is the final return. Quran 60:3~4
Al-Mumtaḥanah (Arabic: الممتحنة, translated “She That Is To Be Examined”, “Examining Her”) is the 60th chapter (sura) of the Quran,
a Medinan sura with 13 verses.

لَن تَنفَعَكُمۡ أَرۡحَامُكُمۡ وَلَاۤ أَوۡلَـٰدُكُمۡۚ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ یَفۡصِلُ بَیۡنَكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِیرࣱ قَدۡ كَانَتۡ لَكُمۡ أُسۡوَةٌ حَسَنَةࣱ فِیۤ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ وَٱلَّذِینَ مَعَهُۥۤ إِذۡ قَالُوا۟ لِقَوۡمِهِمۡ إِنَّا بُرَءَ ٰۤؤُا۟ مِنكُمۡ وَمِمَّا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَفَرۡنَا بِكُمۡ وَبَدَا بَیۡنَنَا وَبَیۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡعَدَ ٰوَةُ وَٱلۡبَغۡضَاۤءُ أَبَدًا حَتَّىٰ تُؤۡمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَحۡدَهُۥۤ إِلَّا قَوۡلَ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ لِأَبِیهِ لَأَسۡتَغۡفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَمَاۤ أَمۡلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَیۡءࣲۖ رَّبَّنَا عَلَیۡكَ تَوَكَّلۡنَا وَإِلَیۡكَ أَنَبۡنَا وَإِلَیۡكَ ٱلۡمَصِیرُ
The Surah deals with the relations of Muslims with non-Muslims. It tells Muslims on the one hand not to take the enemies of Allah as their allies and patrons, but on the other hand it tells them not to consider every non-Muslim as their enemy.
قیامت کے دن نہ تمہارے رشتے ناتے کام آئیں گے اور نہ اولاد۔ اس روز وہی تم میں فیصلہ کرے گا۔ اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو خدا اس کو دیکھتا ہے تمہیں ابراہیم اور ان کے رفقاء کی نیک چال چلنی (ضرور) ہے۔ جب انہوں نے اپنی قوم کے لوگوں سے کہا کہ ہم تم سے اور ان (بتوں) سے جن کو تم خدا کے سوا پوجتے ہو بےتعلق ہیں (اور) تمہارے (معبودوں کے کبھی) قائل نہیں (ہوسکتے) اور جب تک تم خدائے واحد اور ایمان نہ لاؤ ہم میں تم میں ہمیشہ کھلم کھلا عداوت اور دشمنی رہے گی۔ ہاں ابراہیمؑ نے اپنے باپ سے یہ (ضرور) کہا کہ میں آپ کے لئے مغفرت مانگوں گا اور خدا کے سامنے آپ کے بارے میں کسی چیز کا کچھ اختیار نہیں رکھتا۔ اے ہمارے پروردگار تجھ ہی پر ہمارا بھروسہ ہے اور تیری ہی طرف ہم رجوع کرتے ہیں اور تیرے ہی حضور میں (ہمیں) لوٹ کر آنا ہے
Sections:
Do not take Allah’s and your own enemies as your patrons and allies.
It is allowed to have friendly relations with those non-Muslims who do not fight you in your religion and do not expel you from your lands. Some rules related to women who migrated to Madinah and their husbands had not accepted Islam

Quran 7:181~183

And among those We created is a group that guides with the truth and establishes justice accordingly. As for those who deny Our signs, We will gradually draw them to destruction in ways they cannot comprehend. I ˹only˺ delay their end for a while, but My planning is flawless.‏‏ Quran 7:181~183
The Surah is named after the story of the men awaiting on the “Elevations” between Paradise and Hell.
It comprises of 206 Ayat.

وَمِمَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَاۤ اُمَّةٌ يَّهۡدُوۡنَ بِالۡحَـقِّ وَبِهٖ يَعۡدِلُوۡنَ‏ وَالَّذِيۡنَ كَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِنَا سَنَسۡتَدۡرِجُهُمۡ مِّنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ‌ۖ ‌ ۚ‏ وَاُمۡلِىۡ لَهُمۡ ‌ؕ اِنَّ كَيۡدِىۡ مَتِيۡنٌ‏
Al-A’raf – The Elevations. Allah mentions Paradise and Hellfire and then speaks of the ‘elevations’ between them reserved for some amongst humanity. These people not knowing what will happen to them. The people of Hell-fire will be refused water as it will be prohibited for the disbelievers in the after-life.
ہماری مخلوق میں ایک گروہ ایسا بھی ہے جو ٹھیک ٹھیک حق کے مطابق ہدایت اور حق ہی کے مطابق انصاف کرتا ہے رہے وہ لوگ جنہوں نے ہماری آیات کو جھٹلا دیا ہے، تو انہیں ہم بتدریج ایسے طریقہ سے تباہی کی طرف لے جائیں گے کہ انہیں خبر تک نہ ہوگی میں ان کو ڈھیل دے رہا ہوں، میری چال کا کوئی توڑ نہیں ہے
The basic theme of this Surah is Risalah, i.e. Allah’s message as it was sent through many messengers. Several Prophets and parts of their stories are mentioned to emphasize Prophets’ mission and their struggle with their people. The Surah tells us that Allah’s Prophets suffered for the cause of truth. Their enemies tried to harm them, but then Allah helped his prophets and defeated their enemies. The Surah emphasizes that the true message must be presented under all circumstances. After the Prophets it is the duty of the Believers to convey the message of Allah to all people.

Quran 26:7~8

Have they failed to look at the earth, ˹to see˺ how many types of fine plants We have caused to grow in it? Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe. Quran 26:7~8 [Surah ash-Shu`ara` (The Poets)]
The Surah is named ‘The Poets’ and is mentioned in the Ayat, وَالشُّعَرَاءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ الْغَاوُونَ “And the poets – [only] the deviators follow them;” (26:224).
This is the longest Makki Surah of the Qur’an having 227 Ayat.

أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمۡ أَنۢبَتۡنَا فِیهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوۡجࣲ كَرِیمٍ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِینَ
The non-believers were asking for signs to prove that the Qur’an was the word of Allah. Allah mentioned many signs both in nature and in history. Stories of many prophets are also mentioned to indicate that all prophets presented basically the same message.
اور کیا انہوں نے کبھی زمین پر نگاہ نہیں ڈالی کہ ہم نے کتنی کثیر مقدار میں ہر طرح کی عمدہ نباتات اس میں پیدا کی ہیں؟ یقیناً اس میں ایک نشانی ہے، مگر ان میں سے اکثر ماننے والے نہیں
Sections:
Allah has power to bring down the mightiest sign, but here is a test for people. This wonderful creation is a sign itself for those who want to learn.
Signs were shown to Pharaoh.
Pharaoh’s magicians and Prophet Moses.
The exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. The sea splitting and giving the way.
Prophet Ibrahim’s struggle against idolatry.
Prophet Noah and his people.
The ‘Ad and the Prophet Hud – peace be upon him.
The Thamud and the Prophet Saleh – peace be upon him.
Prophet Lot – peace be upon him – and his people.
Prophet Shu’aib – peace be upon him – and his people.
The Qur’an is the message from the Lord of the worlds. It is neither from devils nor do they have any clue of this message. It is not poetry of the poets. It is a serious message with eternal consequences.

Quran 43:85~87

And Blessed is the One to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and everything in between ! With Him ˹alone˺ is the knowledge of the Hour. And to Him you will ˹all˺ be returned. ˹But˺ those ˹objects of worship˺ they invoke besides Him have no power to intercede, except those who testify to the truth knowingly. If you ask them ˹O Prophet˺ who created them, they will certainly say, “Allah!” How can they then be deluded ˹from the truth˺? Quran 43:85~87
The Surah takes its name from the Ayat, وَزُخْرُفًا ۚ وَإِن كُلُّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَّا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۚ وَالْآخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ “And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.” (43:35) There are 89 Ayat in this Surah.

Sections:
This revelation is given to people in Arabic so that they may understand. The revelation is a mercy from Allah.
Shirk and blind following of ancestors are major problems of non-believers.
Allah chooses the Prophets and Messengers according to His wisdom. The worldly riches do not mean much in the sight of Allah.
Those who forget Allah come under the influence of the Satan.
Pharaoh’s response to Prophet Moses. Allah’s punishment came against Pharaoh and his people.
Jesus’ Message was also changed by some of his people.
The Believers will succeed in the Hereafter.

Quran 43:63~65

When Jesus came with clear proofs, he declared, “I have come to you with wisdom, and to clarify to you some of what you differ about. So fear Allah, and obey me. Surely Allah ˹alone˺ is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him ˹alone˺. This is the Straight Path.” Yet their ˹various˺ groups have differed among themselves ˹about him˺, so woe to the wrongdoers when they face the torment of a painful Day ! Quran 43:63~65
The Surah takes its name from the Ayat, وَزُخْرُفًا ۚ وَإِن كُلُّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَّا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۚ وَالْآخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ “And gold ornament. اور جب عیسیٰؑ صریح نشانیاں لے کر آئے تو انہوں نے کہا تھا کہ "میں تم لوگوں کے پاس حکمت لے کر آیا ہوں، اور اس لیے آیا ہوں کہ تم پر بعض اُن باتوں کی حقیقت کھول دوں جن میں تم اختلاف کر رہے ہو، لہٰذا تم اللہ سے ڈرو اور میری اطاعت کرو حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اللہ ہی میرا رب بھی ہے اور تمہارا رب بھی اُسی کی تم عبادت کرو، یہی سیدھا راستہ ہے" مگر (اُن کی اِس صاف تعلیم کے باوجود) گروہوں نے آپس میں اختلاف کیا، پس تباہی ہے اُن لوگوں کے لیے جنہوں نے ظلم کیا ایک دردناک دن کے عذاب سے

Quran 41:15~16

As for ’Ȃd, they acted arrogantly throughout the land with no right, boasting, “Who is superior to us in might?” Did they not see that Allah ˹Himself˺, Who created them, was far superior to them in might? Still they persisted in denying Our signs. So We sent against them a furious wind, for ˹several˺ miserable days, to make them taste a humiliating punishment in this worldly life. But far more humiliating will be the punishment of the Hereafter. And they will not be helped. Quran 41:15~16
The Surah is known as ‘Fussilat’ and ‘Haa Meem as-Sajdah’.

There are 54 Ayat in this Surah.

فَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً ۖ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۖ وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي أَيَّامٍ نَحِسَاتٍ لِنُذِيقَهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَخْزَىٰ ۖ وَهُمْ لَا يُنْصَرُونَ
The subject matter of this Surah is Da’wah. It invites to the truth, gives warnings to those who reject the truth, and tells us that the appeal to the truth is within our nature. It tells us also that the Believers receive strength from Allah’s revelation. The revelation gives life to those who were spiritually and morally dead at one time. The Surah contains both good news and warnings.
پس جو قومِ عاد تھی سو انہوں نے زمین میں ناحق تکبر (و سرکشی) کی اور کہنے لگے: ہم سے بڑھ کر طاقتور کون ہے؟ اور کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ اﷲ جس نے انہیں پیدا فرمایا ہے وہ اُن سے کہیں بڑھ کر طاقتور ہے، اور وہ ہماری آیتوں کا انکار کرتے رہے، سو ہم نے اُن پر منحوس دنوں میں خوفناک تیز و تُند آندھی بھیجی تاکہ ہم انہیں دنیوی زندگی میں ذِلت کے عذاب کا مزہ چکھائیں، اور آخرت کا عذاب تو سب سے زیادہ ذِلت انگیز ہوگا اور اُن کی کوئی مدد نہ کی جائے گی،
Sections:
Invitation to the truth of the Qur’an. The Qur’an is a book that explains everything.
Allah created the heaven and earth. Warnings to those who turn away from Allah.
Those who deny Allah, their own body will witness against them.
The disbelievers’ plan to suppress the message of the Qur’an will fail. Allah gives strength to the Believers.
The best people are those who invite to Allah. The effect of the revelation on the Believers. The signs of Allah.
Allah gives time to people to repent. What good or evil you do is for and against your own selves. The truth will gradually succeed.

Quran 24:36~38

˹That light shines˺ through houses ˹of worship˺ which Allah has ordered to be raised, and where His Name is mentioned. He is glorified there morning and evening by men who are not distracted—either by buying or selling— from Allah’s remembrance, or performing prayer, or paying alms-tax. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will tremble, ˹hoping˺ that Allah may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and increase them out of His grace. And Allah provides for whoever He wills without limit. Quran 24:36~38
Surah an-Nur [The Light] takes its name after the Ayat, اللَّـهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ “Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth….” [24:35].
The word Nur [light] is mentioned 7 times in this Surah, mentioned more times than in any other Surah of the Qur’an.
The Surah has 64 Ayat.

فِی بُیُوتٍ أَذِنَ ٱللَّهُ أَن تُرۡفَعَ وَیُذۡكَرَ فِیهَا ٱسۡمُهُۥ یُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ فِیهَا بِٱلۡغُدُوِّ وَٱلۡءَاصَالِ رِجَالࣱ لَّا تُلۡهِیهِمۡ تِجَـٰرَةࣱ وَلَا بَیۡعٌ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِیتَاۤءِ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ یَخَافُونَ یَوۡمࣰا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِیهِ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرُ لِیَجۡزِیَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَحۡسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَیَزِیدَهُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ یَرۡزُقُ مَن یَشَاۤءُ بِغَیۡرِ حِسَابࣲ
This Surah contains many rules for the development of a society based on righteousness and morality. It talks about male-female relations, rules of proper dress for Muslim women, rules for the punishment of adultery and punishment of those who accuse others of adultery or fornication.
(اُس کے نور کی طرف ہدایت پانے والے) اُن گھروں میں پائے جاتے ہیں جنہیں بلند کرنے کا، اور جن میں اپنے نام کی یاد کا اللہ نے اذن دیا ہے اُن میں ایسے لوگ صبح و شام اُس کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں جنہیں تجارت اور خرید و فروخت اللہ کی یاد سے اور اقامت نماز و ادائے زکوٰۃ سے غافل نہیں کر دیتی وہ اُس دن سے ڈرتے رہتے ہیں جس میں دل الٹنے اور دیدے پتھرا جانے کی نوبت آ جائے گی (اور وہ یہ سب کچھ اس لیے کرتے ہیں) تاکہ اللہ ان کے بہترین اعمال کی جزا اُن کو دے اور مزید اپنے فضل سے نوازے، اللہ جسے چاہتا ہے بے حساب دیتا ہے

Quran 5:2 (partial)

Cooperate with one another in goodness & righteousness, and do not cooperate in sin and transgression. And be mindful of Allah. Surely Allah is severe in punishment. Quran 5:2 (partial) Surah al-Ma’idah (The Table Spread)
The name of the Surah is taken from the incident of the disciples of Jesus asking him to pray for a Table spread with food [5:112].

وَتَعَاوَنُوۡا عَلَى الۡبِرِّ وَالتَّقۡوٰى‌ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوۡا عَلَى الۡاِثۡمِ وَالۡعُدۡوَانِ‌ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ‌ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيۡدُ الۡعِقَابِ
The chapter’s topics include animals which are forbidden, and Jesus’ and Moses’ missions. Verse 90 prohibits “The intoxicant” (alcohol). Verse 8 Contains the passage: “Do not let the hatred of a people lead you to injustice”.
Al-Tabligh Verse 67 is relevant to the Farewell Pilgrimage and Ghadir Khumm.[Quran 5:67]

Verses (Q5:32-33) have been quoted to denounce killing, by using an abbreviated form such as, “If anyone kills a person, it would be as if he killed the whole people: and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people”.
This verse is similar to that of one from the Talmud
اور (دیکھو) نیکی اور پرہیزگاری کے کاموں میں ایک دوسرے کی مدد کیا کرو اور گناہ اور ظلم کی باتوں میں مدد نہ کیا کرو اور خدا سے ڈرتے رہو۔ کچھ شک نہیں کہ خدا کا عذاب سخت ہے
There are six main points discussed in this Surah:
All obligations whether they are divine or human should be fulfilled. When we have a pledge or promise or sign a treaty we must abide by it. Also Allah gave some rules for life to keep us clean and sober. Cleanliness of the body, living with justice, being upright and moral, avoiding sin, corruption and superstition, and doing the deeds of piety and righteousness are important rules and principles and must be observed.
Message to the People of the Book i.e. Christians and Jews to recognize the truth. Allah’s punishment comes on those who reject Allah’s rules and knowingly violate them.
The story of the two children of Adam is told. This story has many lessons. Sometime even your brothers become envious of you and they harm you. Just and righteous persons sometimes suffer at the hands of their own family members, but God’s judgment also comes. The righteous under no situation give up right attitude and behavior.
Muslims must deal with justice with all people. Justice should be impartial, even to their enemies they must be just. However, relations among Muslims themselves should be deeper. There should not be only justice but also love, brotherhood, care and concern for each other.
Enjoy the good things that Allah has given, but guard against excesses. Do not indulge in swearing, gambling, intoxicants, superstitions, violation of the sanctities of the Sanctuary of Allah (the Ka’bah).
Jesus – peace be upon him – was a great prophet of Allah and he performed many miracles. His teachings were corrupted by some after his departure.
