A'isha (R.A.) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) used to pronounce while bowing and prostrating himself: All Glorious, All Holy, Lord of the Angels and the Spirit.Hadees: Muslim 1091The Book Of PrayersNOTE: This is in addition to the undermentioned verses.Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,Quran 87:1So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Greatest.Quran 69:52 and :56:74 & 96Details on next page
Question:It is mentioned in the Sunnah that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: In his bowing and prostration: Glory be to the Holy Lord of the angels and the spirit. He says: Is it permissible for me to say it in bowing and prostration without saying Glory be to my Lord, the Most High? Or Glory be to my Lord Almighty? The answer: No, it is not sufficient. Glory be to my Lord, the Most High, is obligatory. Glory be to my Lord, the Great is obligatory in bowing, but you say it and add to it if you add to it. There is no problem, yes, because the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, [when he revealed {Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High} [Al-A’la: 1], said Put it in your prostration, and when his saying {So glorify the name of your Lord the Great} [Al-Waqi’ah: 74,96, Al-Haqqa: 52] was revealed, He said, “Put it in your bowing,” so we do not abandon the words of the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and answer another word.
